King’s Lynn Town boss Adam Lakeland has warned Scarborough Athletic that his side will be a different proposition to the one that surrendered a three-goal lead last season. The two teams lock horns in the National League North at The Walks for the first time since Lynn’s dramatic collapse against the Seadogs back in April. After outclassing the visitors to lead 3-0 at the break, the Linnets went missing after the interval and conceded twice in injury time to lose 4-3.Fin Barnes, the chief tormentor for Scarborough that afternoon, now finds himself on the opposing side as Lynn go in search of a third successive win.The stunning turnaround left Lakeland and fans shellshocked, but the Lynn boss says the result will bear zero significance when the two teams meet on Saturday.Speaking after the home win against Kidderminster Harriers, Lakeland said: “We’re a completely different team and I think we’ve got a completely different mentality about us now than what we did back then.”But Scarborough are a good footballing team so it’ll be a tough game. “Football can do that. I went to watch Aveley versus Saint Albans last night and it was 6-3. “St Albans were 3-1 up at half time and they got beat 6-3 and it was one of the craziest games of football that I’ve ever seen.”It just goes to show that in any game you can’t take your eye off the ball.”It only takes a second to score a goal and if you switch off and make mistakes and think that you’ve achieved something before the referee blows that final whistle, then you could well trip yourselves up.” After picking up back-to-back home wins to propel themselves back into the top five, Lynn’s boss doesn’t expect any complacency to creep in as he continues to utilise his squad.”No players should take their position in the team for granted because pretty much everywhere we’ve got at least two options,” he said. “It’s about everybody understanding that it is about the team and it’s about the group.”Ross Crane and Tommy Hughes played on Saturday, we won and they’ve missed out tonight.”But then Fin Barnes and Dylan Crowe have come in and both played well and we’ve won again, so that shows the strength we have.”
