Defender Josh Coulson has signed a contract extension at The Walks.

The central defender played a vital role in Lynn’s 22/23 campaign, scoring eight goals in all competitions.

Newmarket-based Coulson has also agreed to become the club’s U23s manager, helping academy players through their course at Loughborough University.

The 34-year-old – who has Football League experience with Cambridge United and Leyton Orient – originally joined the Linnets on a month’s loan from Southend United in February of last year before having the deal extended to the end of the season.

Coulson enjoyed his first few months with the Linnets so much that he negotiated a new deal last summer.

His signing comes as a major boost to Lynn after losing the services of Michael Clunan and Tyler Denton to National League North rivals Scunthorpe United last month.
