Adam Lakeland is threatening to shake up his King’s Lynn Town side in response to a “disappointing” performance at home to Farsley Celtic. The Linnets travel to South Shields tomorrow, and the manager is ready to make changes after Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat at The Walks.Asked if he was tempted to change his starting line-up, Lakeland responded: “I am after that.””Sometimes people need to come out of the team to just get a gentle kick on the backside just to remind them we expect a lot,” he said.”Probably if we had everybody fully fit and available, then that choice would be a bit easier, but we’re still without Freddie (Sass), and Josh Hmami will have to see how he is.”Sam’s now out and Cody is a doubt so you know midfield’s a big concern, and I think it showed tonight, to be honest.”I think when Sam went off the pitch and with no Cody there, we haven’t got that natural disciplined central midfield player and I think we were too open today. “We’re usually really organised and disciplined and have a good shape, and we were far too open. “We got countered far too easily and the distances between individuals and the units were far greater than they should be. We’ve certainly got a bit of thinking to do ahead of South Shields, because if there’s one team you don’t want to give a lot of space to it’s them.”The Lynn boss has not ruled out bringing in reinforcements ahead of the game, with on-loan midfielder Cody Johnson a big doubt for the trip to the north-east.”I’d prefer not to comment on why Cody might not be available for the weekend, but at the moment it’s looking unlikely that he’s going to be available for us,” Lakeland said. “It’s something I need to find a solution for, but so quickly after the game I haven’t had an opportunity to think about it.”It is something that we need to get sorted and whether that means rejigging our shape, or whether that means looking to bring another body, then we’ll do what we feel we need to do. “I’m always looking because I always want us to be better. It’s an area of the pitch where we lost Sam tonight, Cody was missed tonight and Joshua Hmami is out injured – so it is something that we need to think about.”Lynn will be looking to bounce back at 17th-placed South Shields – the lowest-placed professional club in the National League North. “It’s a tough place to go and they’re a good footballing team,” the Linnets boss added.”They’ve got a great pitch and a good setup and are full-time, but they’ve had a mixed bag of results.”I think it was my third game here last season we got beat 2-0, but we should have been 2-0 up.“Josh Barrett missed a penalty and then missed a one-on-one, so inside 15 minutes we should have been 2-0 up.”We’re a completely different team to what we were then and we’ve got that frustration of the result tonight, but we’ve got to try and find a way to bounce back.”
