King’s Lynn manager James Rowe is looking to take a step forward in their next two friendlies – starting with the visit of Peterborough United.

League One Posh visit The Walks in a 7pm kick-off on Friday, and that’s followed by a trip to National League South Ebbsfleet on Saturday, July 26 (2pm).

They’re important games as the Linnets continue preparations for the new National League North season, which begins at home to AFC Telford United on Saturday, August 9.

Speaking to the club’s media team, boss Rowe said: “I think certainly when we come into the Ebbsfleet game next Saturday, things will start settling down in terms of what trialists we’re going to go ahead with and the squad will form.

“In that game, just like the Peterborough game on Friday, I’m looking for improvements on certain things, there’s certain objectives we’re trying to tick off in those games to take the training into the games and we’ve done that in the last three.

“We’re trying to increase fitness levels again over these next seven days and certainly after the Ebbsfleet game, we’re heading into the Stamford (July 29) and Spalding (August 2) games where the results become a little bit more important because you’re looking to win games at the start of the season.”

Lynn continued their unbeaten start to pre-season with an 8-1 success over Downham Town on Monday.
