King’s Lynn Town’s injury crisis has eased going into a pivotal month for their National League North play-off hopes – starting at home to Radcliffe tomorrow.Striker Jonny Margetts came off the bench during Tuesday night’s goalless draw at Rushall Olympic and after the game manager Adam Lakeland confirmed that Gold Omotayo was due to return to training yesterday.Lakeland said: “It’s always positive to have any player returning from injury.“To get Jonny that 18, 20 minutes, whatever he got, it’s an important part of his return to full fitness, so he’ll be training Thursday, Friday and probably in contention for a start now.“I think 90 minutes is a big ask, but with another couple of days training and the 20 minutes there tonight he’ll be in contention for a return to the team.“Gold will be training on Thursday, which is another positive. We’re still obviously looking to bring one or two if at all possible.”The return of both frontmen will be music to the ears of Linnets fans with the side operating without a recognised striker in recent weeks. Sixth-placed Lynn head into their February fixtures knowing that their play-off aspirations are likely to be severely challenged. As well as a home game against Hereford Lynn face tough away trips to Curzon Ashton and Kidderminster Harriers – two of the top five – and at Darlington, who are just two points outside the play-off places. The Lynn boss was pleased with his side’s point in the midlands in midweek.“It was a tough game, but we knew it was going to be a difficult game,” admitted Lakeland. “They’ve won five out of the last six, beat Kidderminster, beat Scunthorpe, so we knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but I’m looking at the positives – delighted with a clean sheet. I thought the performance, generally, was pretty good.”We’ve lacked a little bit in the final third, but I think it’s fair to say so did they. It was a game of very few opportunities, but I think both teams still tried to play decent, positive football to try and win the game.”And it was just one of those evenings where probably the defences for both teams came out on top and just restricted the other team to half moments.”
