Lewis lights up parkrun with fast time

Lewis English and Dawn Robinson blazed the trail at the latest Lynn parkrun.English was first to finish, in 17:37, just one second off his personal best, while Dawn Robinson was the first female to finish in 19:54.After the reports of possible storms and heavy rain, the morning turned out to be much better than expected for the 336 participants.There were nine first-time park runners, together with 12 first-time visitors, all of whom the organisers hope enjoyed the event and look forward to seeing again.Twenty-nine runners clocked personal best times and a big thank you went out to the 27 who volunteered.This week’s age-graded hero was Kate Moore, a first-time visitor from Sheffield, who achieved 87.55%.Congratulations to Helen Foreman for completing her 50th parkrun.Lynn parkrun is a free, timed 5k open to all, regardless of age or ability.Organisers ask that anyone wishing to attend register first at www.parkrun.com/register and arrive at The Walks Café by 8:45 am on the day to attend the first-timers welcome briefing.
