Adam Lakeland has declared himself happy with King’s Lynn Town’s Town’s four-point haul from their last two away games. The Linnets won 1-0 at Brackley Town on Tuesday night and followed it up with a 1-1 draw at Chester this afternoon.Lynn’s hard-earned point at the Deva Stadium stretches their unbeaten run to six games and during that sequence, they have only conceded just once.Charlie Caton opened the scoring after 17 minutes from close range before Jonny Margetts equalised with a header just before half-time.Speaking after the game, Linnets boss Adam Lakeland said: “It wasn’t a great spectacle but it’s a fantastic point for us.”They are on top of the home form table. It’s a difficult place to come and it’s an even more difficult place to come when you go behind as the crowd gets right behind the team.”It’s a really good point considering we played on Tuesday night at Brackley and we’d have taken four points from those two games.” The Blues took the lead after Lynn failed to deal with a low cross from Tom Peers and Caton finished from a few yards out. But Lakeland’s side equalised with their first effort on target when Jonny Margetts latched on to a dangerous free-kick and headed past Elyh Harrison for his eighth goal of the campaign.”He’s probably frustrated and disappointed with how the last few games have gone for him – but one thing you know with Jonny is that he’ll always get on the end of it.”The second half saw few chances at either end. Chester’s Jack Bainbridge had an early sight of goal but his header looped over the bar.Caton almost doubled his tally midway into the second period, when his strike was deflected and almost spun into the bottom corner, but Patrick Boyes was equal to it in the King’s Lynn goal. Second-placed Lynn continue their festive action on Boxing Day when they host Needham Market at The Walks before a trip to Scunthorpe United on New Year’s Eve.Chester: Harrison, Hunter (Hancox 67), Burke, Weeks, Peers, Willoughby (Mottley-Henry 53), Caton, Woodthorpe, Pollock, Bainbridge, Roberts.
