June 2006: Family and friends of popular sportsman Neil Fitt are pictured at Pentney after a new bench was unveiled and dedicated in his memory by Canon Stuart Nairn.

A footballer and cricketer for the village, Neil died in 2004 aged 32, prompting Pentney’s playing field committee to raise money towards the memorial bench which was made by craftsman Bob Batterum.
