West Norfolk Athletics Club hosted the second match in the Division 3 East, Southern Athletics League at Alive Lynnsport.Senior, U20, and U17 athletes came out in force to deliver some more amazing performances in often tough weather conditions with personal bests, club records and debuts in events for many athletes.Six teams battled throughout the day with West Norfolk securing a third-place finish overall.James Greenhalgh finished first in the 200m A string in 23.3sec and in the 400m A string in 50.4sec.Cameron Ross finished fifth in the 100m in 13.6sec, fourth in the B string 200m in 29.5sec and fifth in the A string long jump with a 4.40m leap.Hanley Angell was second in the A string 2000m Steeplechase in 8m07.0sec and fourth in the A string 800m in 2m24.1sec.Charlie Frammingham was second in 8m30.4sec in the B string 2000m steeplechase and third in the A string 1500m in 2m30.7sec. Alfie Bone was third in the A string high jump with 1.65m and a non-scorer in the 1500m 4m50.7sec. Rob Gosnell finished third in the B string 5000m in a personal best time of 21m42.6sec. fifth in the B string shot 5.40m. and fourth in the discus B string 13.83m.The busy Aidan Howard was third in the B string 800m in 2m30.7sec, fifth in the B string long jump, 3.93m, sixth in the A string shot 6.86m, fifth in the A string discus, 18.53m, sixth in the hammer, 15.66m, and fifth in the A string javelin 32.05m.Maxwell Webb’s club debut saw him third in the 400m B string in 62.2sec. He was also a non-scorer in the 200m in 29.6sec. Chris Elmer finished first in the B string 1500m in 4m32.4sec Arran Reeves was third in the 5000m in 18m01.1sec.Karl Brown was first in the B string high jump with 1.55m and was a non-scorer in the 1500m in 4m49.3sec. Henry Gosnell ran as a non-scorer in debut events in the 200m in 28.1sec and the 400m in 63.5sec.The men’s 4x100m relay team finished third in 55.3sec and the mixed 4x400m relay finished first in 4m04.4sec with a new club record. The team sat second until the baton was passed to James Greenhalgh who had a fantastic last lap to take the win.The women’s team was smaller but just as effective producing some top performances.Lilly Frammingham finished first in the B string long jump with 4.58m (PB) and was third in the 100m A string in 14.2sec and in the 200m in 30.5sec.Hannah Greenhalgh finished first in the 400m A string in 60.6sec Nicky Neill was third in the 800m in 2m42.3sec and second in the B string shot with 5.64m.Katrina Wasteney was first in the 5000m in 23m40.5sec while Lucy Edwards took top spot in the long jump A string with 5.0m.Niamh Allitt was second in the A string shot with 8.50m (PB) and threw 21.74m in the A string javelin.Jen Gosnell finished second in the B string discus, throwing 16.39m, and third in the Hammer A string, 11.03m.Emma Dewdney was second in the A string discus,16.56m, and threw 11.08 in the B string javelin.Well done to all the officials, including Ben Collison, John Greenhalgh, Matthew Bailey, Stuart Ross, Emma Dewdney and Cameron Ross and team managers, volunteers and athletes who helped host a very successful home match.
