Matty Warburton says the influence of King’s Lynn Town manager Adam Lakeland is the main reason behind his move to The Walks. The Linnets snapped up the services of the 32-year-old midfielder from National League Solihull Moors yesterday.Former Salford, Stockport, Northampton Town, Yeovil Town, Halifax midfielder Warburton said: “I’m delighted and when the offer came in I was excited.”I’m excited to be working with the Gaffer and Sam (Walker) again. It wasn’t the longest process but it’s great to have it all done and dusted.”It’s good to be here and we go quite far back. He did my stag do in the summer and came to my wedding so we’re good friends, but we’ve had three promotions together at two different clubs.”He’s the big reason why I’m here, he sold the vision of the club to me. I know what he’s like and he has massively bought into what’s going on here and that is one of the big reasons I’m here.”On what he feels he can add to the squad, Warburton, who played under Lakeland at Curzon Ashton, said: “I’m attack-minded. “I like to get on the ball, I crave it. I like to get on the ball to create and score goals and hopefully I can do that here.”Warburton made 20 appearances for Moors this season, scoring five goals.
