The Thurlow Nunn First Division North title race will be decided once and for all next Saturday.
League leaders Downham were without a fixture this afternoon, but saw their slender advantage at the top cut to a point by Heacham this afternoon.
The Magpies were involved in their first goalless draw of the campaign after being held at the Heacham Sports Field by fourth-placed Harwich and Parkeston.
Visiting Harwich were reduced to nine men after two separate incidents involving Heacham’s Nathan Daws, with their second red card coming after the final whistle.
Heacham manager David Griggs said: “We had chances but they weren’t clear-cut. Saying that, I felt we did enough to beat them over the 90 minutes..
“It’s another point on the board and we’ll take the positives out of it and into Tuesday night.”
Heacham travel to Leiston Reserves on Tuesday night knowing that a point or more will take them back to the top of the table going into the final day of the season.
The Magpies entertain Haverhill Borough while Downham Town host third-placed Framlingham at the SCL Memorial Field.
Elsewhere, Swaffham Town came from behind to secure a point on the road in a 1-1 draw against Debenham LC.
A rare headed goal from Jack Frohawk earned the Pedlars a share of the spoils.
In the Premier Division, Fakenham Town drew 0-0 with Mulbarton Wanderers at the Daly Group Stadium.
