Chris Harris says he’s largely been happy with his first season in King’s Lynn colours.
The vastly experienced British star spoke over the winter about how he was relishing the move to one of his favourite circuits, and regulars at the Adrian Flux Arena were duly treated to several of his trademark passing moves over the course of the campaign.
Harris admits he did suffer a dip in fortunes over the summer but made the necessary adjustments to recover, and there’s little doubt supporters would wish to see him back with the Stars in 2026.
Harris said: “All in all it’s been a consistent season and it’s something we can work on.
“I did struggle a bit with the track in mid-season, it was a little too slick for me with nothing on the outside, but we made a few changes and they worked out.
“It was a tough season for the team with injuries and whatever, but I’d like to thank the fans for turning out and getting behind us home and away, and also for making (son) Cruz welcome.”
Although King’s Lynn’s senior season is over, Harris still has plenty to go for during the coming weeks on the team front with Glasgow, who are in the fight for all three major trophies at Championship level.
And elsewhere, he will captain Great Britain at this Saturday’s Long Track of Nations at German venue Vechta, before turning his attentions to the individual title itself.
Victory in Round Three of the series left him just four points adrift of the overall lead with the finale at Roden in the Netherlands coming up a week on Sunday.
Harris said: “It’s been good. I wanted to win the (British) Masters again to get three on the trot, and it should have been five, so I’ll keep going for that!
“Then in the Long Track I wanted to make sure I finished in the top seven quite easily, and I went and won the meeting at Scheesel, which was the first time on 1,000-metre track.
“I’m in with a shout now of winning the title, but we won’t stress too much about that until we get there.
“I’ll just do my own thing and at the end of the day we’ll see where we are, and what will be will be!”
There is still one more speedway event at the Adrian Flux Arena this season with the club staging the Young Stars Pride of the East on Thursday, October 2, featuring a top line-up of rising talent.
The club still has sponsorship packages available for the meeting.
A terrific line-up full of emerging talent has been put together for the event, which will also celebrate the club’s 60th Anniversary and the success of their team in the National Development Trophy.
There will be 23 races in the meeting – 20 qualifying races followed by two semi-finals and then the big Final to decide the winner.
Heat sponsorship is available priced at £100 and these were already selling fast at the Adrian Flux Arena earlier this week.
