Grimston Cricket Club were out in force last week at the prestigious Norfolk Cricket Board Awards, being the only club nominated in four different categories.Leading the accolades was Miles Harris, who claimed the coveted Rising Star Award for his dedication to the club throughout the season, coaching youth and senior teams, volunteering as umpire and scorer, and being an inspiration to all those around him.His award reflects both his hard work and the club’s nurturing environment for young talent. In addition, Grimston had three other finalists who made their mark.Oscar Prescott, a driving force in the club’s development programs, was a runner-up for Young Coach of the Year, recognising his inspirational work with the club’s junior teams.Carrie Nichols was runner-up in the Inspired to Play Category, honouring her efforts in promoting and expanding participation in the sport, particularly among women and girls. The Grimston CC Grounds Team also made the shortlist for Volunteer Grounds Team of the Year, a testament to their tireless efforts in providing some of the best playing conditions in the club’s history.Grimston Cricket Club’s multiple nominations are a testament to the dedication and passion of its volunteers, players, and coaches, further cementing its place as a cornerstone of Norfolk cricket.
