Farsley Celtic 1 King’s Lynn Town 3Gold Omotayo was back on the goalscoring trail as King’s Lynn Town returned to the National League North play-offs places with a crucial win this afternoon.Omotayo earned praise from manager Adam Lakeland after last Saturday’s goalless home draw against Chorley – and the big frontman was on target with a brace at Lynn’s already-relegated hosts.Ross Crane fired the Linnets in front after seven minutes on Buxton’s artificial surface before Omotayo doubled Lynn’s advantage by heading home a pinpoint cross from Freddie Sass.Omotayo fired home a Dylan Crowe centre to make it 3-0 five minutes into the second half before Joao Silva denied Lynn a fourth successive clean sheet with a consolation in the final minute.Speaking after the game, boss Lakeland said: ”He’s been much better in the last four to six weeks has Gold.”I think we’re probably playing to his strengths a little bit more, and I think he’s simplified his game, and he looks far more effective when he does that. “He’s got two real good finishes today, so I’m pleased for him, but he knows he’s got to keep on doing that because we’ve got Jonny on the bench. “I don’t want to keep Jonny on the bench if I am being honest, but if Gold keeps on doing what he is and the team keeps on getting decent results, then obviously Gold’s got the shirt for now. But we know that we can change and we can play them both.””I thought we played some good stuff at times, but we were a little bit poor at times.”Disappointed to concede the goal at the end; should have scored more, but three points is all that matters.” Lynn’s win sees them back up to seventh place, level on points with the two teams above them, Chorley and Hereford.Lakeland’s side profited from Curzon’s defeat at Kidderminster, and with Hereford and Buxton both winning just two separates the fifth and ninth-placed sides in the table. Next up for Lynn is a visit from league leaders Scunthorpe United to The Walks on Good Friday.Farsley Celtic: Brook, Abankwah, Janneh, Polwarth, Bumhira, Hyde (Monteiro 72), Youmbi, Mampala, Kondolo, Iwobi (Ameho 72), Silva.
