King’s Lynn Soccer Club Lionesses made a lot of noise at the Cambourne Female Football Festival by reaching two finals. The club entered two teams in their tournament. This is the first tournament for both teams, which promised to be a tough competition given the entry-level of the teams.KLSC U9s, sponsored by Tea And The Gang, made it to the finals against a strong team Girls Pro FC, who had six Arsenal Academy players in their squad, losing by a solitary goal in a 1-0 defeat.Managers Freddie and Jason were impressed with the team stating they ran their socks off, their football was brilliant both on and off the ball. The girls were a real credit to KLSC.The club’s U16s, sponsored by Barbed Wire Electrical, also made the finals against a strong AFC Rushden & Diamonds side, losing 2-0..Managers Brit and Paul said: “The girls played great football, gave everything they could and moved the ball quickly.”The distribution was good, but we were just undone on the day by a better team—well done AFC Rushden & Diamonds.”
