England’s Lionesses have inspired thousands of girls and women to get involved in football.
And as World Cup fever continued to grip the nation over the weekend, Alive Lynnsport played host to a girls’ festival on Saturday.
Organised by the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, more than 80 girls showed off their silky skills across two sessions.

All the practices were themed around a country at the Women’s World Cup.
Ryan Charalambous, West Norfolk development officer for the Norwich City CSF, said: “The Mid Norfolk Youth league (MNYL) reached out to the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation with regards to hosting an event in West Norfolk to aid with the MNYL recruitment of girls across their teams.
“We were delighted to run this event and see so many girls at the event. The timing couldn’t have been better with the Women’s World Cup Final taking place the following day.
“The initial feedback has been very positive, all the participants left with smiles on their faces and we hope that those who currently aren’t currently attached to any clubs have had their curiosity in the game elevated to a level whereby they feel they want to join a MNYL team.
“We look forward to future projects where CSF and the MNYL can Co-run again to an equally excellent standard and outcome.”
