Four wins in as many games for Lynn youngsters

Under-13 rink hockey players from Lynn secured four wins from as many games as they travelled to Letchworth for their home tournament.Due to the way the fixtures had fallen, the team had not played since mid-October, but this did nothing but fuel hunger to get back on the rink and down to action.Meeting host outfit Letchworth first, Harlee Oltai opened the scoring after four minutes.Jenson Barrs and Oltai added two more goals before the break and after the restart Barrs went on to complete his hat-trick as Lynn ran out 5-0 winners.In their second game against newly-formed Bedford Griffins, a composed finish from Rupert Oselton gave Lynn the lead.Oltai then added another two goals to make it 3-0 and, although Bedford caught Lynn off guard to reply, efforts from Keith Monk (2), Barrs, captain James Smith and Lennox Oltai made it 8-1 at the interval.The second half followed the same script with Harlee Oltai adding another before Olivia Oxborough netted twice in just 16 seconds. Smith then added his second of the game before Monk bagged another brace making the final score 14-1.Against Soham Light Blues, Barrs registered the opening three goals before Oxborough. assisted by Oselton. broke through Soham’s defence to make it 4-0 at the break.The goals continued to flow after the restart with Harlee Oltai (2), Barrs (2), Oselton and Lennox Oltai sealing a convincing 10-1 success.The final game of the day was against local rivals Skaters.A sublime finish from Barrs opened the scoring before Oxborough pounced on the rebound and make it 2-0 before the break.Barrs added three more after the interval with Skaters also netting a deserved consolation.The effort the team put in throughout the day reflected in the results with them working together as a unit.The team thank sponsors Meadowside Vet Physio for their continued support.King’s Lynn Rink Hockey Club’s under-13 team at Letchworth.
