Four-some Ghosts too strong for Heacham

Fakenham avenged their defeat against Heacham from their opening game of the season by defeating the Magpies 4-1 in the return fixture last night.

Jack Noble – scorer of the winning goal at Heacham earlier this month – fired the visitors in front 33 minutes into the Premier Division clash at Clipbush Park.

The Ghosts levelled matters on the stroke of half-time after Fraser Field headed home a Lewis Sturman corner.

Fakenham dominated the second half and it resulted in three more goals.

A deflected effort from Ben Terry put the hosts ahead before substitute Tanatswa Malenguka converted Jake Watts’ pass after 69 minutes.

The scoring was completed ten minutes from time as Watts rifled home after making space for himself in the box.

The win moves Fakenham into ninth in the league standings with two wins from their opening three games while Heacham, who continue to adjust to life in the top flight, are second-from-bottom with three points from their first six fixtures.
