Two women, aged 60 and 61, and the male driver of the taxi, aged 62, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the crash which happened around 1.50pm on Union Street.
A 61-year-old woman was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and a 50-year-old woman was assessed by paramedics at the scene.
Sergeant Christopher Hoggans, from Police Scotland road policing, said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact us with any information they may have.
“I would also ask anyone with recording equipment to check the footage as it could assist us in our ongoing investigation.”
Road closures in Union Street, Renfield Street, St Vincent Street and Gordon Street have now reopened.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said: “We received a call at 1.55pm to assist partners at Union Street in Glasgow.
“Operations control mobilised two appliances and a specialist resource to the scene.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
