A former Premier League player has been unveiled as the new assistant manager at King’s Lynn Town.
Former West Ham and Swindon player Adrian Whitbread will assist manager Murk Hughes in the dugout at The Walks.
Whitbread, 51, as played in the Football League for Leyton Orient, Portsmouth, Luton Town, Reading and Exeter City.
A knee injury forced an early retirement from the game before stepping into management where he was boss of Puerto Ric FC, in America, and Antigua Barracuda FC, in Antigua.
He also looked after the Bahrain Under-23 side and has been assistant boss at Barnet and Chesterfield more recently.
On his appointment, Whitbread said: “I am super excited to be given the opportunity by Mark and King’s Lynn.
“I didn’t take any time to say yes having spoken to Mark, and look forward to meeting the staff, chairman, players and the fans.”
Hughes added: “To get someone with Adrian’s experience on board, not only in terms of playing, but also the coaching side of the game to Kings Lynn Town is massive for myself and for the players.
“I’m sure the players will feed off his energy and learn from his experiences in football.”
