Footballers laced up their boots to show love and support for Clair and Danny Burch in this year’s annual Woottons charity match. The game was a huge success, with a crowd of around 200 enjoying a thrilling encounter that ended in a 4-4 draw, followed by an epic penalty shootout win for the Burch family. Both teams had strong contenders for the Man of the Match award, but it was Freddie Burch who deservedly claimed the title for 2025.Reflecting on the event, club chairman Tim Kirby said: “It was a really special day for the club to be involved in, and we’re delighted so many people came along to support.”Everyone left with a smile on their face, and the club sends Clair our best wishes for the months ahead. We hope the Burch family can enjoy the kind donations made on the day.”Danny Burch, whose wife Clair has cancer, summed up the family’s gratitude by saying: “The club has made us feel really special.”Plans for next year are already underway for the North West Norfolk Football League Division One winners.Excitement is building following the early commitment of last year’s goal-scoring hero, Steve Colby.
