Kings Lynn returned home for their most recent Premier League game to take on RHC Invicta who have had a mixed start to the season. The hosts were prepared for a tough match, knowing Invicta could cause damage all over the rink.Lynn got themselves off to the perfect start with the first two minutes of the game.Bethan McCarthy, making her first start of the season, linked up with Ryan Barnes to give Lynn an early lead.Less than a minute later, Owen Norris added Lynn’s second with a neat wraparound finish before Josh Taylor converted an early penalty to give the hosts a 3-0 goal lead in the first four minutes of the game.Invicta then settled into the game for a short spell before Lynn’s patience was rewarded. With just over 13 minutes played, Lynn grabbed another quickfire double to take a commanding lead before the travelling side hit back with one of their own. The in-form Josh Roberts, between the Lynn posts, made some good saves. Taylor added his fourth of the game before Jamie Griffin scored with a deflected effort to make it 7-1 at the break.Lynn were not in the mood to take their foot off the gas and introduced Josh Futter to the game who made an instant impact. Two goals in as many minutes gave Lynn renewed confidence with just over 20 minutes left to play. Harvey Dugdale was next onto the scoresheet with a one-time finish under the goalkeeper before Taylor added his fifth from the direct free hit as a result of Invicta’s frustrations leading to 10 team fouls.Invicta netted a direct free hit of their own which was cooly finished into the net before a moment of brilliance from Griffin rounded off the Lynn scoring. Griffin volleyed into the top corner of the net before Invicta grabbed another goal to make it 12-3, but it was too little too late as the damage had already been done. Thanks to Signworx, Tropics Two, Adrian Flux and EPIC Embroidery for their continued support.Lynn’s final match of 2024 is a trip to Peterborough on December 21.
