Dersingham A played their final home league match of the season ahead of Friday night’s League Cup final against Terrington. After three clean sheets on the bounce, the team got off to an unusually slow start, possibly thinking too much about Friday night and found themselves 1-0 down from a well-taken goal from Daniel Murphy. They played sluggishly in the first half but managed to get an equaliser through Sam Peck.More surprisingly, they found themselves 2-1 up when Liam Kerr’s good hold-up play found Nathan Mitchell, who put them ahead going into the break.Dersingham looked a different side after the break and the goals started to flow. Some good passing from Stuart Deadman found Peck as he terrorised the Weeting back line.Peck made it 3-1, then a similar run through the middle for his fourth, followed almost instantly A few minutes later, Peck made it 6-1 with a curled finish from outside the box. Sonny Devlin came off the bench for a few minutes and he played the ball around the goalkeeper to add a seventh.Unfortunately, a lapse in concentration saw Dersingham concede a penalty that Daniel Murphy converted to make it 7-2.The referee, Andy Lucraft-Townley, had an excellent game.Weeting named the legendary John Murphy as their Man of the Match and Dersingham named goal machine Sam Peck as theirs.
