There was much at stake with places in September’s Final still up for grabs.

For this league, West Norfolk had teamed up with athletes from Dereham AC, forming a composite team. The top eight teams over the three matches get to compete at the finals in Bury St Edmunds.

The weather was mostly dry and quite breezy, not ideal conditions for personal best performances and yet there were many recorded.

Under 15 boy Charlie Broad posted some of West Norfolk’s best results of the day with first places in all three of his events including a personal best in the javelin.

WNAC team manager Sharon Ross was happy as plenty of athletes showed grit and determination. There were some amazing personal performances that really paid off with five out of ten age group teams qualifying for the final in September – Under 13 boys’ and girls’ teams, the Under 15 boys’ and girls’ teams and the Senior Women all made the finals in September.

It was a successful day, and massive thanks must as always go to all the officials track judges, team managers, coaches, volunteers, athletes, and parents for coming together to create such a great day of athletics.
