There were 15 new parkrunners among the field of 397 for the latest Lynn instalment on another lovely morning. This weekend saw 17 first-time visitors from across West Norfolk and further afield. It is worth noting that the recognised health benefits of parkrun include increased physical fitness, improved mental health, weight control, increased confidence, self-esteem and skill development through volunteering, socialisation, enhanced sense of community and improved management of long-term conditions.Studies have shown all the positive benefits that come from taking part.Ely visitor Chris Smith was the first to finish in a great time of 15:40, closely followed by the KL record holder Callum Stanforth, in an equally excellent time of 15:59.Well done once again also to JW11-14 Libby Sibthorp, the first female to finish in 19:53, who had the misfortune of having a bird deposit on her head as she ran round. The age-graded hero this week was Pauline Sparrow, on 83.93%. and the good conditions were certainly apparent with 63 personal bests being recorded.Congratulations to Dylan Whitehouse and Daniel Yallop after completing their 100th parkrun.Lynn parkrun is a free timed 5k run (or walk) that takes place in The Walks every Saturday at 9am and is open to all, regardless of age or ability.
