On a wet winter solstice morning, 228 participants and 31 volunteers took part in Sandringham Parkrun. The weather didn’t dampen the enthusiastic crowd who came dressed in Christmassy and festive costumes. The magic of Christmas Day is silent; you don’t hear it, you feel it, you know it, you believe it.Once again, the volunteers were amazing in the difficult conditions.Tourists visited from Peterborough, Ely and Huntingdon. The first finisher was Lewis English in a PB time of 19:48, and in second place and the first lady home was Marie Duhig in a time of 19:49.Personal bests were achieved by 14 runners while Roy Brown, Chris Hardy and Edward Parsons completed their 25th parkrun and Rachel O’Donnell and Robert Richardson their 50th.Thanks to Gary and Katherine Marsden for their hard work in helping to set up and for all of their support for the Sandringham Parkrun.
