Fakenham Town youngsters booked their place in a third John Savage Cup final with a runaway victory over North Walsham on Sunday. There was a goal frenzy as the Ghosts EJA under-16s recorded an 11-0 victory over North Walsham at the Daly Group Stadium.Joint manager Dave Coslett said: “It was a great performance from the boys. I’m pleased we have made it to the final, it’s nothing more than the lads deserve as they are such a great bunch.”Dave Thorrold added: “These lads work so hard and it pays off. They are a very talented group of lads and there are exciting times for Fakenham Town with the future looking bright.”To begin with, huge credit must be given to North Walsham, playing a Fakenham side who were an age group above them and also in a higher league.Despite the final scoreline North Walsham kept on fighting till the end and credit to them for doing so.Overall the U16 EJA dominated with some quick, sublime passing and playing with pure passion. They had some wonderful support from Fakenham Coaches, Youth Players and of course their parents.Awaiting Fakenham in the final are Heacham under-16s after the Magpies defeated Terrington 3-0 in the other semi-final.The final will be played at the Football Development Centre on Sunday, April 14, with a 2.30pm kick-off.Fakenham Town appreciates anyone who makes the trip to support the team in what should be a cracking contest.
