A small group of West Norfolk endurance athletes participated in a variety of events this weekend.
Starting on Saturday, when Ryan Oakes took part in Boudicca Way Ultra Marathon, a 50k foot race, starting from Diss and finishing in Trowse.
The course was self-navigated for athletes and the terrain consisted of wet, slippery bogs and challenging inclines.
Oakes did not complete the 50k challenge, but won the event overall and set a new course record in the making.
Ryan Oakes ran the 50k ultra in a staggering 3 hours and 57 minutes, smashing the previous record for the event by a whopping 16 minutes.
On Sunday, three West Norfolk athletes competed in the Flying 5k in Coltishall.
A flat and fast 5k taking place on Norfolk’s Coltishall airfield.
The first home for the club was the in-form Mitchell Bunn, who placed third overall, running a time of 16:20.
Cassie Moden finished as the second senior woman, running 19:49
Olivia Ord enjoyed a strong run, finishing with a time of 21:49 and was placed fourth among junior females.
To round up the weekend, Evie Clayton took on the mile race in St Ives.
Clayton ran an incredible 5 minutes 58 seconds for the mile, which has given her a ranking of 63rd in the UK for her age group.
