It has been a busy few days for WNAC endurance athletes as the late summer sun provided another hot and humid weekend for runners to compete in.
Sunday saw the return of the popular Run Norwich 10k, a fantastic local event which sees runners in their thousands flying through the streets of Norwich, taking on the city’s many hills whilst enjoying the great atmosphere from the crowds.
Oliver Foxwell ran fantastically in the heat to run the 10k in under 40 minutes, clocking a time of 39:17.
Lee Richardson also took on the heat and hills to finish with a great time of 43:37.
Further north, club chairman Mark Garrett had the honour of taking part in the much-coveted Great North Run in Newcastle.
A famous half-marathon which includes brutal inclines, married with fantastic support from the 1000s of spectators, as 60,000 participants took to the streets.
Garrett endured the heat and hills whilst soaking up the great atmosphere, running a time of 1:49.
Olivia Ord took part in a unique event by running in the Thorpe Park 5k, a fast 5k race situated in the grounds of the popular theme park in Surrey.
Ord clocked a time which reflected some of the rollercoasters in the race’s surroundings, running a speedy 20:32 for the 5k, winning the girls under 15 categories.
WNAC wheelchair athlete, Susi Rogers-Hartley, took part in the Sawtry 10-mile race.
Rogers-Hartley not only had to battle the heat but also a total elevation of 410ft along the ten-mile course, finishing with a time of 1:50:29.
Craig Roberts took to the London half this weekend and had a cracking run with a finish time over the 13.1 city miles of 1.43.49.
