Fletcher Toll continued his remarkable run of form in front of goal with a brace as Downham Town cruised to a 4-0 home win over Long Melford.Toll (2), Matty Castellan and James Moore were all on target in the Premier Division encounter at the Memorial Field.The home side took the lead in the opening ten minutes as James Moore netted with a clinical finish.Defender Castellan was on target for the second successive weekend to put Downham 2-0 up before Toll tucked away a penalty to make it 3-0 going into the break.The home dominance continued after the interval as a long ball over the top from Matty Prudence found Toll to score his 20th goal in 17 games.Downham’s latest win sees them leapfrog Dereham Town, who they travel to next weekend, into sixth place in the league table.Over in Suffolk, Heacham were unable to halt league leaders Mildenhall Town’s relentless march towards the Premier Division title.After a goalless first half, Luke Butcher opened the scoring for the league leaders before further goals from Tanner Call and Kieran Twinn put Mildenhall 3-0 in front.But Heacham refused to go down without a fight and Charlie Royle replied with a great finish to make it 3-1 before full-time.The Magpies handed a debut to former Linnets defender Tyler Knowles who put pen-to-paper for the club from Boston United yesterday.Next weekend, Heacham host Lakenheath Town at the Heacham Sports Field.Fakenham Town’s home clash against Walsham Le Willows was postponed due a waterlogged surface at the Daly Group Stadium.Andy Cunningham’s side entertain Kirkley and Pakefield next weekend.In the First Division North, Kieran Bruce was on target from the penalty spot as Swaffham Town held play-off chasers Stanway Pegasus to a 1-1 draw at the Uncle Luke’s Stadium.Next weekend the Pedlars are in home action again when Norwich CBS are the visitors to Shoemakers Lane.
