Downham Town came from behind to pick up a point on their home bow in the Isthmian League North.
A late own goal cancelled out a first-half goal from Takeley’s George Powell in front of a good crowd at a sun-drenched Memorial Field.
Takeley dominated long spells of the first half and an early opportunity for the visitors saw Joe Pullen blaze over the woodwork after good work from Coby Miles down the left.
The Essex side took the lead in the 17th minute as a long throw-in from John Clarke was met by Powell, who flicked it in at the front post.
A point-blank save from Duncan McAnally denied Takeley a second goal going into the break.
Downham were much better after the interval and equalised a minute from time through an own goal.
