Dersingham banger ace claims biggest win of career

Dersingham’s Harry Cobb claimed the biggest win of his career when he took the chequered flag in the Micro Banger UK Championship at the weekend

More than 50 cars were in the race, which was a destructive affair, and saw Swaffham’s Dan Bitson celebrate his birthday by rolling over his car.

Cobb was involved in several scrapes but did well to force his way through the gaps to win a classic banger race – lapping the rest of the field

Darren Fendley was making a rare micro banger appearance and was rewarded with victory in the first all comers.

He was followed home by Cobb WHILE Sam Coote did well to come home in third place to complete a Lynn-based one-two-three.

Amy Brown was the best local performer in the lady bangers with a trio of top-three finishes with Becca Bitson also having three good finishes and Kayleigh Sanders coming home with a couple of top-ten places.

Morgan Bailey was the best local finisher in the junior bangers coming home in fourth place.

Morgan also qualified for the final with a fourth-place finish in his heat as a drop to white certainly saw a boost to confidence.

He was not the only local driver in the final with good drives from both William Cartwright and Daisy Reynolds also seeing the pair make it through from the consolation.

There is no racing at Lynn this weekend with the next meeting taking place on Saturday, September 16, when one of the big events of the season takes place with the Unlimited Banger World of Shale Final with the junior bangers also back in action.
