Downham Town came down to earth after Saturday’s opening victory in the Isthmian North League when they lost 3-1 at Norfolk rivals Wroxham.
Arriving fresh from their opening day 2-1 win at Bowers & Pitsea, Town were two down after 17 minutes against The Yachtsmen. The home team added a third midway through the second half, with William Moxon getting a late consolation for the visitors.
They are now without a game before they travel to play Witham Town on Saturday, August 23.
Fakenham are already five points clear at the top of the Thurlow Nunn Premier after a 1-0 win at home to Mundford, who started the game in third place.
In front of a crowd of 176, Jack Robinson netted the winner in the 22nd minute of a game which saw Mitchell Rasberry sent of in second-half stoppage time for two bookable offences.
Fakenham and Heacham are also without a game this weekend.
