King’s Lynn favourite Niels-Kristian Iversen is ready to turn his attention towards marking his Testimonial season with a league title challenge.Iversen staged a hugely successful benefit meeting at the Adrian Flux Arena last Sunday, attracting a packed crowd for the first action of 2025 in the UK.But now it’s down to business for the PSH Environmental Stars, who stage press and practice today (Friday) before launching their team campaign next week.Their first challenge is a KO Cup tie against Oxford, with the home leg on Monday, whilst the opening ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture sees the Stars take on reigning champions Belle Vue on March 31.And after years of toil – Lynn haven’t reached the title play-offs since they were runners-up in 2018 – Iversen knows just how much everyone associated with Lynn is craving some success.Iversen said: “I think it would mean a hell of a lot for the club and the fans, and that’s obviously what we are going for.“But it’s a long way to the end of the season, and we need to take one meeting at a time and build up that momentum. “It’s not won or lost in one meeting at the beginning of the year, but it’s about getting form at the right time and build up that streak of winning.” Iversen was delighted with the response to his Testimonial meeting, with Grand Prix stars Robert Lambert, Jason Doyle and Fredrik Lindgren all showing their top-class pedigree.Lambert charged to a full maximum in the team event, before being slightly caught out by conditions in the individual Final with rain beginning to fall, enabling Doyle to take the honours.Iversen said: “It was awesome all of the way through really. The weather was good and there were a lot of people who came to watch it. “We had a really good line-up, good races and no crashes or injuries, and I’m really grateful to all the boys who wanted to come here and share the day – obviously it’s a pat on the back to me that they wanted to come and do it!“I like the four-team format, obviously it’s not possible to do it in the normal league, but I just think it’s a bit like the World Cup when you do it with more teams.“I thought it was a great idea to bring the clubs (Wolverhampton, Peterborough and Newport) back for the day and it would make some of the supporters happy, and all the way through it was good.”
