Brother and sister strike for first sailing win of season

Turner duo, Faith and Toby struck up their first sailing win of the season at Snowflakes Sailing Club, Wroxham, in relentless rain and challenging wind conditions.ITCA (International Topper Class Association) hosted six events across the region over the winter months.This was Toby’s first significant top podium spot since being sponsored by Rooster and now represents them as a Rooster Rider.The pair moved up into the Topper 5.3 fleet only a year ago and quickly climbed the rankings to now sit first (Toby) in the current GB rankings and sixth/first female (Faith).They have been enduring long six-hour days on the water throughout the winter every weekend at Draycote Academy with top GB Coach Steve Irish to prepare for the season ahead where they hope to gain top spots at Nationals this year.Faith secured a solid third place on Sunday and collected her top female trophy for winning last season’s Eastern Regional Traveller series.They are both members of Snettisham Beach Sailing Club where they have been sailing in the Topper fleet for six years.SBSC welcome new junior sailors and hosts two Cadet Weeks in the summer holidays open to beginners of all ages.
