King’s Lynn Badminton Club has launched its winter season with a strong start, as 16 players took to the courts at Alive Lynnsport Leisure Centre at the beginning of this month.
Founded in 1947, the club is one of the oldest and largest in Norfolk, offering a friendly yet competitive atmosphere for players of all levels.
Sessions run every Monday from 8pm to 10pm, with the first session free for newcomers.
The club’s summer AGM saw the election of a new committee, with Russel Gilles appointed chairman, Jayne Gilles as treasurer, Edward Howes as secretary, and Rich Hardy taking on the role of communications officer.
The team is committed to ensuring that club nights are welcoming, well-organised, and enjoyable, with both competitions and social events planned throughout the season.
This year also brings a refreshed look for the club, with a new logo, updated website, and club clothing now available.
On the court, the return of the Presidents Cup will see players split into red and blue teams to add an extra competitive edge to Monday evenings.
The club is keen to attract new members, offering good-value membership alongside a lively social calendar.
