West Norfolk Disabled Angling Club ’97’ has raised £135 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
The money was raised through a memorial fishing match held at Alive Lynnsport on Wednesday.
Former club member Eric Nuccol was air-lifted to a hospital in Chelmsford by the EAAA after being taken ill a few years ago.
Ten anglers participated in the match and the winning weight was 24lbs plus, reeled in by Connor Baxter.
Chairman and match secretary Peter White said: “This was our first match of the season after the reforming of the club last year.
“We would like to see more disabled and able-bodied anglers come and join the club and take part in our matches.”
Trevor Dane, a volunteer for the EAAA, said: “We would like to thank the club for raising this money for us and every donation is very important to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
“We appreciate very much what they have done for us – donations like this help us to save lives.”
He said attending an incident costs on average £3,750, so donations like this are vital to enable the charity to save lives.
“Our motto is: together we save lives,” he added.
