June 2002: Giant posters of World Cup stars David Beckham and Ronaldo helped Lynn’s Greyfriars Primary School raise a bumper £1,600 at the school’s carnival.

June 2002: Nearly 40 youngsters from the Lynn area had a day to remember at Pleasurewood Hills – thanks to local Rotary Clubs and in particular the Trinity Rotary Club which arranged the trip.
The children were waved off by Borough Mayor and Mayoress John and Barbara Legg.

June 2006: Sprightly Downham pensioner Win Smith, an 86-year-old grandmother, stepped out to raise £50 for Sport Relief Mile, even though the big fundraiser didn’t take place until the following month.
Her walk from Downham to Denver was more than a mile and she even refused a lift from a passing motorist near the end.

June 2006: Youngsters from Lynn’s Jack and Jill Playgroup take part in the Barnardo’s Big Toddle, raising cash for disadvantaged children.
They walked around Lynn Walks before enjoying a picnic and some playtime.
