Alive and Kicking – community scheme scoops Norfolk County FA accolade

Alive King’s Lynn Community Football has scooped a Norfolk County FA’s Grassroots Positive Football Environment Award.

Thanks to the scheme, football has never been in a better place across West Norfolk.

The award is a real accolade to all of the team and cements their philosophy, which is to help develop all our players as well as the person in a positive way.

Tommy Goode, head of performance and development, said: “It is a great honour for our Alive Kings Lynn Community Football programme to be recognised by Norfolk FA in the Grassroots Football Awards as the most Positive Football Environment in Norfolk.

“The team have done some tremendous work making an inclusive programme across our pathways from First Touch Football for young children, Ability Counts Football supporting those with disabilities, to Walking Football for those who need to slow down but want to keep playing.

“This year has seen a focus on girls’ football which continues to grow as well as the Development and Elite football programmes.

“The team regularly review programme and under training to enhance their skills all of which contributes to an outstanding environment to play football.

“Thanks to all of the players and parents who play a huge role in the programmes and we hope everyone continues to enjoy their football with Alive KLCF.

Alive King’s Lynn Community Football works hard to deliver fun engaging football sessions including First Touch Football for toddlers between the ages of two to four, through to Walking Football sessions for those who still love the beautiful game.

They also run Development and Elite squads for boys and girls who are passionate about the sport.

The scheme thanks all its staff, coaches, referees, volunteers, players, parents & carers, and our wonderful sponsors Double G Clothing – for their continued support throughout the years.

The FA Community Awards were launched in the 2010-11 season to recognise and reward the people, clubs and leagues that deliver grassroots football in England.

Without the commitment of our army of volunteers, clubs and leagues in Norfolk would struggle to survive and it is the dedication and enthusiasm of such individuals that makes the game so special.
