Advent calendar delight thanks to football scheme

King’s Lynn Community Football’s Time To Talk players have kindly donated chocolate advent calendars to be delivered to children in our local area.In total, they collected 175 calendars and distributed them to several good causes.Dean Bax, KLCF Time to Talk Football League co-ordinator and David Page, captain of It’s Getting MESSI, have delivered them to: Fen Rivers Academy, Little Discoverers, Rudham Ward, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the children’s community nurses’ team at Roxburgh, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Comet’s Disability Football at Levington Sports and Social Football Club, which is held every Monday and run by Matt Warren.Bax said: “Our team have done an amazing job. We are continually looking for ways we can help within the local community, this was the first time we have collected advent calendars.”The smiles on the children’s faces have been priceless, and this will be something we will continue in the future.”Time To Talk Football is an initiative which sees a partnership between King’s Lynn Community Football (KLCF) and the 8:56 Foundation. A weekly session which takes place every Friday to support and promote well-being and belonging for men.The sessions run from 7pm to 10pm and are open to men of all ages. Every week they will play a six-a-side game to unite men with a focus on improving wellbeing in a supportive and inclusive environment. KLCF coaches and the 8:56 Foundation will be on hand to support you along the way. Each team has a trained well-being champion to help keep a well-being log. The sessions are designed for men to be able to engage in the support on offer as much or as little as they want.The beautiful game of football gives people the opportunity to get to know and socialise with other men, who may have shared experiences.
