After many times of trying, Cody Pearman picked up his first Lynn parkrun success at the weekend.Organisers were delighted to see Pearman, who clocked a brilliant time of 17:52, finish in pole position in a field of 446.Congratulations also to Amy Southam, who was the first female to finish in 19:34, just pipping our regular first female finisher, JW (11-14) Libby Sibthorp, who crossed the line in a time of 19:38.There were also a record-breaking 20 first-time runners and 39 first-time visitors from far and wide, including Belfast and, after what must have been an epic journey, Cape Town. This week’s age-graded hero was King’s Lynn parkrun old friend Jane Ashby, who achieved a fantastic grade of 98.24%.Congratulations go to Penelope Simmonds on her 50th parkrun, Jodie Clark on her 100th and Chris Cann on his 150th.With local marathons on at the weekend in Boston and North Norfolk, in which many regulars were taking part, together with a regular group from Lynn parkrun who were in Belgium for the Brussels marathon, it just goes to show what can be achieved.Lynn parkrun is a free timed 5k run (or walk) in The Walks every Saturday at 9am and is open to all regardless of age or ability.
