Counties 2 Eastern CountiesWoodbridge 81 Fakenham 5After two games were postponed due to frozen pitches, Fakenham finally kicked off 2025 by travelling to Woodbridge for their 13th league fixture of the season.Woodbridge won an entertaining game at the Stringer Ground earlier this season, 36-26.The home side started strongly, scoring just five minutes into the game, though it was unconverted.A quarter-of-an-hour later they scored again, converting on this occasion.Fakenham struck back just a couple of minutes later through full-back Murray Tindal. Fly-half Lloyd Marshall was unsuccessful with the conversion, leaving the score 12-5. From that point, Woodbridge dominated the game. They scored four converted tries before the break to make it 40-5 at half-time.The home side continued the second half where they’d left off, scoring a converted try soon after the break. This was followed by six more tries throughout the half, with two conversions. Fakenham were unable to trouble the scoreboard again, as Woodbridge finished up winners by a chastening score of 81-5.The Barsham Brewery Man of the Match went to scrum-half Harry Richardson who continued to work tirelessly despite the scoreline. The boys will put this result behind them and focus on welcoming league leaders West Norfolk to the Stringer Ground on Saturday.Come along and support the boys as they look to put in a much-improved performance.
