Downham youngsters banking on success thanks to new sponsor

Fledgling football team Downham Town FC U9s has kicked off its third year in style thanks to Redwood Bank.The youth team has secured backing from Redwood, a business bank headquartered in the east of England, as part of its Community Sponsorship programme that allows employees to nominate clubs and causes they feel would benefit from support.Redwood’s director of finance Alex Hamilton, who is based in Downham, asked the specialist lender to support the club.Hamilton is the team’s coach, and his son joined the team two years ago.
