Honda racer Phil Wright was back on form last weekend for rounds 15 and 16 of the Racing Hondas Championship at Modified Live at Snetterton. On Sunday morning, Wright qualified second for race one and on pole for race two out of 31 Honda cars.As the lights went out at the start of the race, the West Norfolk driver made a great getaway and was pushing the No 45 car of Brown for the whole 10 laps.Wright set the fastest lap of the race and crossed the line just two-tenths behind Brown. The persistent heavy rain made for difficult conditions at the start of race two.Wright was bogged down from the start and lost the lead but was quickly back on the leader Brown. The rain eased and with a great move into the first corner, Wright retook the lead but a mistake coming onto the back straight dropped him down to second again. A red flag was thrown and the action was halted for 20 minutes due to an accident further down the pack. The rain made an appearance again for the restart, Wright got away well and was pressuring Brown and with a great move into the final corner passed him with two laps to spare. He extended his lead, crossing the line nearly two seconds in front to set the fastest lap by more than six-tenths of a second. This final race brings Wright’s 2024 campaign to an end but he hopes to compete in the same championship in 2025. Wright is supported by Luke Loades of Rounce and Evans Property Management and Jordan Cribb of Vertex Architecture. Thanks also go to PBS Brakes, Selina Automotive, AllSigns, One Day Motorsport, Van Works and Darren Heffer Builders.
