King’s Lynn Town manager Adam Lakeland expects his side to keep improving heading into tomorrow’s home encounter against Leamington at The Walks.A four-game unbeaten run, including three wins on the bounce, has seen the Linnets move up to fourth in the National League North standings.Just two points separate the top four sides in the division, and Leamington is likely to provide another stern test for Lakeland’s men – with the Brakes just sitting outside the play-off places. The Lynn boss’ blueprint is built on hard work, and after the 3-1 victory at Oxford City on Tuesday night Lakeland said: “I don’t know why people would expect my team not to be a tough game because this is the third team I’ve managed in this league.”I’ve been at Farsley Celtic, Curzon Ashton and now King’s Lynn Town and all three of those teams have competed well in every game because they are fit, organised and players understand their roles.”First and foremost I have confidence in myself, Sam (Walker) and in my team, most importantly.”I still think there is a lot more to come from us as we’re still a relatively new team. “We’ve got a young squad and they are enjoying their football right now. “They work hard every day and are a great group of players to work with. What we can achieve, I don’t know.“Look, tonight is just one more game and three more points.”I said after the game on Saturday that in this league if you take your eye off the ball you can lose three games and drop ten points. “Where we are in the league at this stage is irrelevant, but what it will do is give us the confidence and belief.”If we keep improving on the things we are good at and also the things we need to be better at, there’s no reason why we can’t keep picking up results.” King’s Lynn and Leamington have drawn three of their last five meetings and another tight encounter is expected between the two sides tomorrow. After keeping a clean sheet on his debut against Buxton last weekend before conceding for the first time against Oxford City on Tuesday night, Pat Boyes will keep his place between the posts as Paul Jones recovers from injury.
