Jenson makes his move to go second

InterMax kart racer Jenson Sayell moved up to second in the HKRC Championship with two rounds to go after an action-packed display at Kimbolton earned him second place in the Trophy final.With grid positions for heat races randomly allocated, the Marshland St James youngster was drawn ninth for heat one and only missed out on third place on the last lap, finishing fourth.Starting 21st for heat two, Sayell made up 15 places – more than any other racer – to finish sixth, while from eighth in heat three Sayell finished third.Qualifying fourth for the final, Sayell enjoyed a great start and was third at end of first lap and into second on lap three.He’d dropped back to fourth going into the final tour but passed two karts at once to retake second with the race commentator described it as ‘the move of the weekend’. Despite pressure for the remainder of the lap and a last-corner challenge, Sayell held on for second place on the podium.Dad Rob Sayell said: “With an entry of 31 karts at Kimbolton including some very high-class drivers, I was so proud of the way Jenson drove with maturity and he used his race craft to a great result.“We made changes to the engine set up after testing and Jenson was hitting speeds of 66mph.” Sayell thanked Force Motorsport for a great engine and all his sponsors including Jordan Kendal of JLK Vehicle Solutions plus Ark East Anglia Ltd, Hall Clean, Professional Aesthetic Enhancements King’s Lynn and Sun Lounge.Next up is a one-off entry at Whilton Mill’s club event later this month before returning to Kimbolton for round nine of the HKRC Championship.
