Eighteen teams participated in the joint captain’s fun day at Middleton Hall Golf Club to raise as much money as possible for the On Course Charity Day at the hall. The event format was a Texas dicey scramble and silly pinsThe teams of four teed off and after a dice was thrown to select the tee shot to be used for the second shot, which meant it wasn’t always the best tee shot taken. That was difficult enough, but adding in the silly pin positions created some unusual putting scores.Everyone enjoyed the format and topping that there was an MG car up for grabs on the 11th hole If anybody was lucky enough to achieve a hole-in-one.A big thank you to Thurlow Nunn for their continuous support to Middleton Hall Golf Club. The charity day finished with a chipping contest on the 18th for four members of each section having a chip to a very silly pin position, which Simon Hepher won for the seniors The winning team was: Steve Hemeter, Tom Lovett, Steve Vincent and Paul Sharp. Runners-up with another superb score of 63.1 were the team of Jackie Rushbrook, Truda Foster, Pat Hoban and head greenkeeper Jack HolmanThe joint captains would like to express their gratitude to everybody who has helped in all of the events this year which has raised nearly £5000 for the On Course Foundation Charity.Well done to everyone involved.
