King’s Lynn Soccer School held its Summer Term World Cup Tournament with 10 teams representing teams from around the world.The minis (reception age and Year 1) saw some great football.Coach Philip Yates said: “It’s really good to see so many young players, they put everything into their sessions and the World Cup allows them to show their ability and their creativity all within a safe and friendly environment.”The minis winning their trophies today for player of the term and most improved player of the term were Oakley Wild, Edith Scott, Ayaan Ebelhack, Rueben Gilmore.The juniors saw stunning saves, brilliant football, great teamwork as well as a lot of creative players showcasing their skills.This group saw Germany walk away with the medals and their players of the term and most improved players of the term were Freddie Harris, Dilan Juozenas, Albie Wild and Alfie Kell.Coach Philip Yates added: “It’s a great way for young players to come along and learn the fundamentals of football, in a fun, safe and friendly environment.” Peter Crome added: ‘The great thing about King’s Lynn Soccer School is the link it has built up with KLSC. “It was important to take the Soccer School to the next level, to put us and the club on the map about grassroots football.”We have had some great players come through the Soccer School including the likes of young Aaron Powell and Lewis Freestone to name but a few.The session was also attended by KLSC Ladies first team, who got a warm reception and were wished good luck in their County Cup game that afternoon, which they went on to win 1-0.Many thanks to North Wootton Academy School.
