A charity cricket match held at the picturesque Grimston Cricket Ground brought together Kings Lynn Police CC and Kings Lynn All Stars CC for an exciting evening of sport and community spirit.With sunny skies and enthusiastic spectators, the event was a huge success, both on and off the field.The match was a thrilling display of cricket, with both teams showcasing their skills and, more importantly, their camaraderie.Although competitive, the atmosphere remained light-hearted, with plenty of laughs and good-natured banter between the players.The Kings Lynn All Stars batted first, scoring an impressive 118 runs with Mark Pickering the top scorer with 27 and Ross Edwards scoring 23.Bev Garnett was the pick of the KL Police bowlers taking a hat-trick with her second over.Kings Lynn Police had a mountain to climb, and despite impressive batting from Chris B (17 runs) and Bev Garnett (12 runs), they fell short of the required total, amassing 98 runs in a valiant effort. Ross Edwards and Miles Harris both took three wickets each. Beyond the on-field action, the true victory of the day was the amount raised for Grimston Cricket Club.A total of £350 was collected through generous donations, which will support the club’s activities and maintain the ground for future generations.This event also highlighted the strengthening partnership between Kings Lynn Police and Grimston Cricket Club.By coming together for such a positive cause, both teams demonstrated the power of sport in building stronger community ties.
