King’s Lynn head into the final phase of their Premiership season with an additional rule to tax their team-building plans over the coming ten days.Boosted by an excellent win at Birmingham on Monday, the Stars embarked on a busy run of home matches when they took on Oxford tonight (Thursday).Next week throws up the highly unusual scenario of two meetings in the space of 24 hours at the Adrian Flux Arena as they host Belle Vue on Wednesday and Sheffield on Thursday – the former meeting having been postponed earlier this month due to lack of rider availability. The Stars complete their home schedule against Leicester on September 2.Such a crammed schedule is not ideal for business, especially with September normally a calm month weather-wise, but unfortunately Stars have to complete their matches by the end of that week as they will have a bearing on final league positions which determine play-off places for the top four. And the further complication is that when booking guests – Stars expect to still be without captain Nicolai Klindt whilst Benjamin Basso is suspended – they cannot use any rider more than once in an eight-day period.Manager Rob Lyon said: “It will be nice to have some home meetings in succession, and we’ve just got try to pick our guests wisely. “We have to meander our way around the eight-day rule as well because we’ve got four meetings in a quick space of time. It’s important to make sure we get it right.”There is even more action at the AFA this Saturday when the venue hosts the third round of the FIM Flat Track World Championship featuring 23 riders from 14 different countries. Racing gets under way at 7pm.
